Production
Dairyworks prides itself on safe, efficient and hygenic work practices, ensuring a first-class product is despatched to markets around New Zealand and Australasia. The production process outlined here demonstrates the basic process that products go through at our Christchurch factory, from arrival to final distribution.
1. High quality cheese is sourced in bulk from South Island manufacturers and arrives at Dairyworks factory to be loaded into production.
2. The cheese enters the hygenic production room and is unwrapped.
3. The bulk cheese is sliced and cut into segments according to the size and weight requirements of the current production run. Cheese segments are checked for quality.
4. Excess cheese that remains after cutting is collected for future grating process.
5. Cheese blocks pass through wrapping machine and are individually checked for quality.
6. Wrapped blocks pass over weight sensor which checks that individual blocks are the correct weight. Those that are not are automatically removed from the production line and retrieved for future grating process.
7. End product is packaged and held in cold storage for despatch and distribution to markets.
